Some Random Thoughts from August and September

September, 2023

  1. Is there a difference between dynamic pricing and price gouging?

  2. Is tolerance of low standards killing society?

  3. Is it a boondoggle if nothing gets built?

  4. More people need to understand themselves and how they work. Do a personality assessment (understandmyself.com) and b/ Do an IQ test (Mensa.org)

  5. I dislike phrases like “Learn from people you don’t like” or “Everyone has something to teach you”. What is the cost of learning a pittance or interacting with people you don’t like? The cost is your time and mental energy. Is the value of that interaction worth it? Probably not.

  6. If you’re approaching your career the right way (in alignment with your skills and natural competence) you won’t be competing with anyone.

  7. Some people just don't get it and I don't get why they don't get it. Get it?

  8. You’ll never teach a duck to hunt like an eagle.

  9. There really is a sucker born every minute. Try not to be the sucker.

  10. In a group setting, don’t touch politics with a 10-foot pole. Same for when you’re with someone who thinks they’re part of a group.
