Some Random Thoughts from August and September
September, 2023
- Is there a difference between dynamic pricing and price gouging?
- Is tolerance of low standards killing society?
- Is it a boondoggle if nothing gets built?
- More people need to understand themselves and how they work. Do a personality assessment (understandmyself.com) and b/ Do an IQ test (Mensa.org)
- I dislike phrases like “Learn from people you don’t like” or “Everyone has something to teach you”. What is the cost of learning a pittance or interacting with people you don’t like? The cost is your time and mental energy. Is the value of that interaction worth it? Probably not.
- If you’re approaching your career the right way (in alignment with your skills and natural competence) you won’t be competing with anyone.
- Some people just don't get it and I don't get why they don't get it. Get it?
- You’ll never teach a duck to hunt like an eagle.
- There really is a sucker born every minute. Try not to be the sucker.
- In a group setting, don’t touch politics with a 10-foot pole. Same for when you’re with someone who thinks they’re part of a group.
